Interactive Teller Machine (ITM)

What is an ITM?

An ITM or Interactive Teller Machine builds on to the traditional Automated Teller Machine (ATM) model by adding a more human touch with a virtual face-to-face interaction when requested.

With our new Interactive Teller Machines (ITM), members can perform standard transactions as they would typically do at an ATM, but if they need assistance or are looking to speak with a Member Service Representative, they can “Request Teller Assistance” via the touchscreen button on the ITM. A member service representative will provide live, personal assistance through the video screen.

What transactions can I perform when requesting teller assistance?

You will be able to initiate the following transactions while working with the ACCU Member Service Representative:

    • Deposit
    • Withdrawal
    • Funds Transfer
    • Balance Inquiries
    • Loan/Credit Card Payments

What if I have a very basic transaction?

The ITM has dual functionality. You will be able to use the machine as an ATM to process a regular ATM transaction or an ITM if you request teller assistance.

What transactions are NOT available at the ITM?

You will NOT be able to process the following:

    • Cashier’s Check: If you need to purchase a cashier’s check, you will need to speak to a member services representative inside your local branch.
    • Transactions with Coin: At this time the ITM is unable to accept or dispense coin. Your branch staff will be able to accept coin and dispense coin to you in person.
    • Statement Printing: You will not be able to receive a printout of statements at the ITM. You will have to visit a branch location or go online to access your statements.

How do I learn how to use the ITM?

During the launch period of the ITM at a location (launch times and dates may vary for each location) we will have employees onsite readily available by the machine to assist you with any questions that you may have. The staff inside the branch is always available to provide assistance.

Why should I use an ITM?

The Interactive Teller Machine is very easy to use. This new technology will allow us to provide better service in a more efficient and secure manner than at a traditional drive-thru window.

Is there a fee to use the ITM?

No, this service is the same as going up to a teller window or drive-thru. There are no additional fees at an ACCU ITM Machine.

What if I do not know my account number, will I be able to use the ITM?

Yes, the ITM will function both as an ATM and an ITM. You will have different ways to present personal information at the ITM which includes the following methods:

    • ID Scanner built right into the machine to capture an image of an ID
    • Account Number prompt to request the account number (numbers will be masked onscreen for security purposes)
    • Social Security Number prompt to request the SSN to find an associated account (numbers will be masked onscreen for security purposes)

What if I need member services?

If member services are required for any transaction outside of what is available, such as a cashier’s check, account maintenance, or loan applications, let your ITM Member Service Representative know that you need assistance with something else and they will point you in the right direction. Options include:

    • During business hours while a branch lobby is open, you can head right in and process any transaction that you are not able to do at the ITM
    • Making an appointment with a Member Services, either in-person or over the phone

Are there any limits to the number of transactions that can be done?

The ITM can accept various amounts of cash and checks in one session. Each machine has different limits and capabilities. If the number of bills or checks exceeds the equipment limits, you will have to process another transaction to complete your request. You will be able to process different transactions within one session if it does not exceed the machine bill or check limits.

How does the machine determine what denomination of bills to dispense?

You will be able to choose your denominations at the time of dispensing. Denominations include 50, 20 and 5. If you do not choose your bills, you have the option to dispense the fewest possible bills to complete the transaction.

Will Canadian checks or other non-U.S. checks be accepted?

Foreign checks will be rejected at the ITM on both Active Teller and ATM transactions.

What if I want to use the machine only as an ATM?

You can perform common transactions using the ATM functionality. However, Requesting Teller Assistance at the machine provides the ability to speak to a live representative in the ITM department.

What will happen to the staff I am used to seeing at the drive-thru?

The branch staff will still be there. You are welcome to go inside during branch hours to see them and have them assist you.

Is the Member Service Representative on the ITM an employee of Alliance Catholic Credit Union?

Yes, the ITM Member Service Representatives are employees of Alliance Catholic Credit Union, just like the staff at the branch. They work at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union office located in Farmington Hills.

How about my privacy? Is using the ITM safe and secure?

Yes, your conversation and any information you provide to your ITM Member Service Representative are as private as if you were at a teller window or drive-thru. You will be able to adjust the volume of the machine in the event you do not want anyone to hear any information provided.

What do I do if there is an issue with the machine or a transaction?

We will work diligently to ensure that any issues occurred at the machine or during your transaction are resolved as soon as possible.
